WMA and Total Recorder

Windows Media Audio (WMA) and Total Recorder

Beginning with V4.4, Total Recorder introduced support for Windows Media Audio (WMA) files. Beginning at this release, all editions of Total Recorder can record or play WMA files. The Professional and Developer versions of Total Recorder can also edit WMA files.

In order to work with the family of WMA files, you must install Windows Media Player 9 or later or a special redistribution package supplied by Microsoft. While connected to the Internet, click on this link to obtain the package. The package is in the form of an exe file named wmfdist.exe. Just download and double click on the file to have it installed.

You may also download Windows Media Player 9 or Windows Media Player 10 from Microsoft at this web page:

If you have already installed Windows Media Player 9 or 10, there is no need to download the wmfdist.exe file. The file is only needed if an older version of WMP is installed and you do not want to upgrade.

High Criteria's support for WMA files does not include support for creating, editing or playing files protected by Digital Rights Management (DRM) facilities.
